- ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆After spending over twelve hours at A and E I was told by hospital to go to Gorwelion. The member of staff who saw me was visually irritated and angry before I began explaining why I had come. I explained to him I have suffered from severe depression that has been brought on by a traumatic bereavement and other issues of mine. I explained I was a postgraduate and he accused me of lying. I asked him politely as to why and he angrily shouted that because I already have a degree somehow I cant be feeling as low as I made out. I was in a state of shock and he told me that he doubts that I have depression, even though I have been on anti depressants for years and have had a long history of self harm and suicide attempts even as recently as the night before I came there. He went on to tell me to go to my GP I said yes and left. I dont wish to paint everyone who works there with the same brush but I was traumatised by the lack of empathy, compassion and understanding from staff.
